Tanot Mata Temple is located near Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, which is 130 km away from Jaisalmer and it falls on the India-Pakistan border. Tanot Mata Temple is in 1965, when India was the war of Pakistan, at that time we did not have much soldiers and this temple was surrounded by 3 directions, after which the Pakistani army attacked India and started bombing it is said that They had also tried very hard to destroy this temple, for which Pakistani army fired about 3000 shells, but not a single shell could touch the temple, out of which 450 shells were thrown only on the temple and that too by mistake a single round of the temple. It did not burst due to which the temple was not damaged and which is considered a miracle and even today these balls are presented in the temple.
Seeing the charisma of Tanot Mata Temple temple, Brigadier Shenawaz of the Pakistani army bowed down to his knees and asked the government for permission to visit that temple and then later after 2 years he was allowed to visit this temple where he got a Chandi. A chaula was also offered which is still present in the temple.
A museum is also built in this temple, which you can see and today people come here to visit from far away and near this temple a victory pillar has also been built in memory of the soldiers and on 16th December here. There is also a function, let me tell you that during Navratri, a fair is also held here, which is very beautiful, today only BSF personnel take care of this temple.
